abstract = {El presente proyecto de investigación pretende analizar en qué medida el tratamiento que se da a la guerra en el tercer ciclo de Educación Primaria en la asignatura de Ciencias Sociales contribuye a la construcción de la cultura de paz. Para ello, se ha utilizado una metodología cualitativa basada en el análisis de documentos de los libros de texto de Ciencias Sociales utilizados en un centro público de Educación Infantil y Primaria de Cantabria; y la entrevista semiestructurada a los docentes del tercer ciclo de dicho centro. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que el libro del quinto curso apenas contribuye en la construcción de la cultura de paz a diferencia del libro de sexto, que plantea la guerra favoreciendo parcialmente la educación en la paz de los estudiantes. Por su parte, el profesorado califica los libros como insuficientes y complementa su práctica docente con otros recursos, concluyendo que el tratamiento que se le da a la guerra contribuye a la construcción y mantenimiento de la cultura de paz.},
abstract = {This research aims to assess how the teaching of war in the Social Sciences subject contributes to the construction of a culture of peace. To this end, a qualitative methodology was used based on the document analysis of the Social Sciences textbooks used in a Cantabrian´s public school; and the semi-structured interviews with the teachers of the third cycle of said school. It was found that the fifth-grade´s textbook barely contributes to the construction of a culture of peace, unlike the sixth-grade´s textbook, which addresses war in a way that partially promotes peace education among students. Moreover, the teachers considered the textbooks insufficient, so they included other resources to their teaching practice, concluding that the teaching of war in the third cycle of Primary Education contributes to the construction and maintenance of a culture of peace.},
