abstract = {En este trabajo se ha reconstruido la historia de la Física de Partículas en Cantabria,
específicamente aquella desarrollada en la Universidad de Cantabria (UC) en colaboración
con el Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC). Desde la creación del grupo
de investigación por Eugenio Villar (Valencia 1922 - 2012) se estudia su evolución y se
revisan acontecimientos clave en su desarrollo como el Plan Movilizador de Altas Energías
de 1983, la participación del grupo de Cantabria en colaboraciones internacionales como
CDF en Fermilab y las colaboraciones DELPHI y CMS en el CERN. Asimismo, se ha
analizado el impacto de la incorporación de la científica Teresa Rodrigo Anoro (Lérida 1956 -
2020) al grupo y su participación en los descubrimientos del quark top y del bosón de Higgs.
A nivel metodológico, este trabajo ha sido realizado mediante entrevistas a personal
investigador del grupo de Física de Altas Energías del Instituto de Física de Cantabria
(IFCA), familiares de Eugenio Villar, así como a través de la recopilación y análisis de
documentos históricos, bibliográficos y revisión de bases de datos.},
abstract = {In this work, the history of Particle Physics in Cantabria has been reconstructed, specifically
focusing on the development at the University of Cantabria (UC) in collaboration with the
Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). Since the creation of the research group by
Eugenio Villar (Valencia 1922 - 2012), its evolution has been studied, and key events in its
development have been reviewed, such as the 1983 High Energy Mobilization Plan, the
participation of the Cantabrian group in international collaborations such as CDF at Fermilab
and the DELPHI and CMS collaborations at CERN. Additionally, the impact of the
incorporation of the scientist Teresa Rodrigo Anoro (Lérida 1956 - 2020) into the group and
her participation in the discoveries of the top quark and the Higgs boson has been analyzed.
Methodologically, this work has been carried out through interviews with researchers from
the High Energy Physics group at the Institute of Physics of Cantabria (IFCA), family
members of Eugenio Villar, as well as through the collection and analysis of historical and
bibliographical documents and database reviews.},
