abstract = {In this communication a method for calculating the main electromagnetic properties of an isotropic dielectric media and their dependence on frecuency is shown. The algorithm has been implemented into a computing tool named Moddiel which obtains the two main electromagnetic parameters of the dielectrics: the permitivity and the loss tangent. Additionally, Moddiel calculates the dependence of these parameters on frecuency (dispersion). Several dielectric materials have been characterized using this method and, although the variation of their electromagnetic properties with frecuency is negligible in the Ku band, it definitely needs to be taken into account when using strong dispersive dielectrics or higher frecuency bands.},
