abstract = {El exilio republicano a través de Portugal ha sido un tema apenas abordado por la historiografía al ser un destino más minoritario que otros como Francia. Sin embargo, el país luso tuvo una gran relevancia como ruta de paso, especialmente desde la ocupación de Francia por los alemanes que convirtió a Lisboa en el único puerto abierto por el que los refugiados podían huir de Europa. En este contexto, la labor de las organizaciones de ayuda humanitaria fue fundamental a la hora de asistir a estos refugiados que muchas veces se encontraban en una situación muy complicada al tener que permanecer en la clandestinidad por las semejanzas ideológicas que existían entre el Estado Novo portugués y la España franquista. Para explicar estos temas, se tendrá en cuenta una cronología que va desde el inicio de la Guerra Civil española hasta aproximadamente los años 50 del siglo XX.},
abstract = {The republican exile through Portugal has been a topic that has hardly been addressed by historiography, as it was a much less chosen destination if it is compared to others such as France. Nevertheless, Portugal had a huge relevance as a transit route, especially since the German occupation of France, which made Lisbon the only available port that could be used by refugees to escape from Europe. In this context, the work of humanitarian aid agencies was crucial in helping these refugees, who often found themselves in a precarious situation due to the fact that they had to remain in hiding. This is partly explained by the ideological similarities that existed between the Portuguese Estado Novo and the Francoist Spain. To successfully explain these subjects, the essay will follow a chronology that starts in the Spanish Civil War and ends in the 50s of the last century.},
