abstract = {En la actualidad, las técnicas de reparación quirúrgica de la válvula mitral en pacientes 
seleccionados se consideran de elección en casos de valvulopatía degenerativa con 
prolapso valvular, siempre y cuando el procedimiento pueda asegurar un éxito 
inmediato muy alto (cifrado en más de un 90%). Por tanto, es importante monitorizar los 
resultados de cada centro con el fin de indicar el mejor tratamiento en cada paciente. En 
este estudio de tipo observacional retrospectivo unicéntrico se pretende registrar los 
resultados de las intervenciones quirúrgicas sobre la válvula mitral por insuficiencia 
mitral realizadas en el HUMV entre los años 2021 y 2023. Para ello, se revisaron los 
distintos informes de la historia clínica electrónica mediante el portal Altamira. El 
principal objetivo fue determinar cuántos pacientes programados para reparación de la 
válvula mitral precisaron finalmente una sustitución protésica y, por otro lado, recopilar 
una serie de variables resultado, como complicaciones postoperatorias, mortalidad,
tiempo estancia hospitalaria o grado de insuficiencia mitral tras la intervención.},
abstract = {Currently, surgical repair techniques of the mitral valve in selected patients are 
considered the best treatment in cases of degenerative valvular disease with valve
prolapse, provided that the procedure can ensure a very high immediate success rate 
(estimated at over 90%). Therefore, it is important to monitor the outcomes of each 
center in order to indicate the best treatment for each patient. This retrospective 
unicentric observational study aimed to study the results of surgical interventions on the 
mitral valve due to MI (mitral insufficiency) performed at HUMV between the years 2021 
and 2023. To achieve this, clinical records from the electronic medical records were 
reviewed using the Altamira portal. The main objective was to determine how many 
patients scheduled for mitral valve repair ultimately required prosthetic replacement, 
and to collect other outcome variables such as postoperative complications, length of
