abstract = {Este	 Trabajo	 de	 Fin	 de	 Grado	 recoge	 los	 datos	 obtenidos	 de	 pacientes	 que	 acudieron	 al	
Servicio	de	Urgencias	durante	los meses	de	Julio	y	Agosto	del	año	2021	y	2022	y	que	fueron	
atendidos	en	el Hospital	Universitario	Marqués	de	Valdecilla.	Se	han	recogido	estos	datos	y	
analizado	para	ver	la	posible	relación	entre	el	aumento	de	las	temperaturas	ambientales	y	las	
demandas	de	los	pacientes	a	Urgencias.	
Se	ha	realizado	un	estudio observacional	de	corte	transversal	en	el	cual	se	han	hecho análisis	
estadísticos	sobre	la	temperatura	ambiental	y	los	diagnósticos	de	los	pacientes	que	acudieron	
a	urgencias.
Los	objetivos	generales	del	estudio	son	analizar el	papel	del	calor	sobre	la	salud	y	los	objetivos	
específicos consisten	en	analizar la	temperatura	ambiente	y	su	efecto	sobre	la	demanda	en	
un	servicio	de	urgencias.
El	resultado	de	los	análisis no	ha	podido	demostrar	una	relación	entre	las	temperaturas	y	las	
demandas	 a	 Urgencias	 por	 síncope	 o	 crisis	 asmáticas,	 sin	 embargo,	 se	 ha	 encontrado	
estadísticamente	 significativo	 en	 relación	 con	 el	 deterioro	 general	 y	 las	 infecciones	
respiratorias	altas	y bajas.},
abstract = {This	Final	Degree	Project	collects	the	data	obtained	from	patients	who	visited the	Emergency	
Department	during	the	months	of	July	and	August	2021	and	2022	and	who	were	treated	at	
the	Marqués	 de	 Valdecilla	University	Hospital.	 These	 data	 were	 collected	 and	 analysed	 in	
order	to	determine	the	possible	relationship	between	the	increase	in	ambient	temperatures	
and	patients'	demands	on	the	Emergency	Department.		
A	 cross-sectional	 observational	 study	 was	 carried	 out,	 in	 which	 statistical	 analyses	 were	
performed	on	the	ambient	temperature	and	the	diagnoses	of	the	patients	who	attended	the	
Emergency	Department.	
The	general	aims	of	the	study	were	to	investigate	the	role	of	heat	on	health	and	the	specific	
aims	 were	 to	 analyse	 ambient	 temperature	 and	 its	 effect	 on	 demand	 in	 an	 emergency	
department.	
The	results	of	the	analyses	did	not	show	an	association	between	temperature	and	ED	demand	
for	syncope	or	asthma	attacks,	but	were	statistically	significant	for	general	deterioration	and	
upper	and	lower	respiratory	tract	infections.},
