abstract = {Una de las principales propiedades del hueso es la capacidad de regeneración. El 
proceso de reparación ósea ante una fractura se puede ver alterado debido a 
determinadas características de la fractura, del propio paciente y del tratamiento 
realizado. Cuando la fractura no ha consolidado en los primeros nueve meses tras la 
lesión y no ha presentado signos progresivos de curación en las radiografías seriadas en 
tres meses consecutivos se denomina pseudoartrosis. La incidencia de pseudoartrosis
ocurre en el 1,9-4,9% de las fracturas. La pseudoartrosis representa una condición 
médica crónica compleja caracterizada por dolor y discapacidad tanto funcional como
psicosocial. El pilar principal del tratamiento es el tratamiento quirúrgico que va a
proporcionar estabilidad a la fractura. Dependiendo del tipo de pseudoartrosis, puede 
ser necesario el aporte de un injerto óseo, siendo el injerto óseo autólogo el gold 
standard. El tratamiento puede apoyarse en otras terapias como el uso de 
biomateriales, biológicos o células. En este trabajo se lleva a cabo una revisión 
bibliográfica sobre la etiología y los avances biomoleculares y nuevos tratamientos 
utilizados en humanos hasta el momento.},
abstract = {One of the main properties of bone is its regeneration ability. The bone healing process 
of a fractured bone can be altered due to certain characteristics of the fracture, the 
patient himself, and the treatment carried out. Nonunion is defined when the fracture 
has not healed in the first nine months after the injury and has not shown any 
progressive evidence of healing on serial radiographs in three consecutive months. 
Nonunion occurs in 1.9-4.9% of the fractures. Nonunion represents a complex chronic 
medical condition characterized by pain and both functional and psychosocial disability. 
The mainstay of treatment is surgical treatment that provides stability to the fracture. 
Depending on the type of nonunion, the use of bone graft may be necessary, being the
autologous bone graft the gold standard. The treatment can be supported by other 
therapies such as the use of biomaterials, bioactive molecule or cells. In this work, a 
bibliographic review is carried out on the etiology and the biomolecular advances and 
new treatments used in humans up to now.},
