abstract = {El presente trabajo va a abordar los cambios introducidos con la Ley 8/2021, del
2 de junio, por la que se reforma la legislación civil y procesal para el apoyo a las
personas con discapacidad en el ejercicio de su capacidad jurídica. Como comienzo se
definirá el concepto de “personas con discapacidad” y la evolución de la terminología
para llegar a la actual. Se analizarán las distintas leyes integrales que ha habido a lo
largo de la historia. Se definirán las nuevas instituciones de apoyo y se compararán con
las antiguas. Y, por último, se hará una referencia sobre cómo se está actuando y las
resoluciones dictadas sobre el particular. Con todo, el objetivo de este trabajo es
visibilizar a las personas con discapacidad y fomentar su participación en la sociedad
en términos de igualdad con independencia de que precisen de una protección singular
en el ejercicio de sus derechos.},
abstract = {This paper will address the changes introduced with Law 8/2021, of June 2,
which reforms civil and procedural legislation to support people with disabilities in the
exercise of their legal capacity. As a beginning, the concept of "persons with
disabilities" and the evolution of the terminology to reach the current one will be
defined. The different comprehensive laws that have existed throughout history will be
analyzed. The new support institutions will be defined and compared with the old ones.
And, finally, a reference will be made on how it is acting and the resolutions issued on
the matter. However, the objective of this work is to make people with disabilities
visible and encourage their participation in society in terms of equality, regardless of
whether they require special protection in the exercise of their rights.},
