abstract = {El virus del papiloma humano (VPH) es la enfermedad sexual más frecuente en el mundo. Se estima que más del 80% de la población se contagiará de este virus a lo largo de su vida. No existe una cura para esta infección, pero sí vacunas profilácticas que protegen de manera eficaz de posibles contagios. La vacunación contra el VPH lleva instaurada 15 años en el programa de 
vacunación español. La característica de esta vacunación es que se aplicaba únicamente en mujeres adolescentes. Los estudios habían confirmado que este virus era el causante de más del 99% de los cánceres de cuello de útero, por lo que la actuación se centró en la protección de la mujer. En los últimos años, diferentes estudios han demostrado que este virus provoca la aparición de otros tipos de cáncer y, además, en toda la población sin importar el género. Estos nuevos conocimientos obligan a cambiar el objetivo con el que se planteó inicialmente esta vacunación y a plantearse la extensión de su cobertura a la población general},
abstract = {Human papillomaviruses (HPV) is the world’s most frequent sexual disease. An estimated 80% of the population will be infected with the virus at some time during their lives. There is no cure for this virus, however there are prophylactic vaccines that effectively protect against infection. HPV vaccination has been part of the Spanish vaccination programme for 15 years. The main particularity was that just teen females were vaccinated. Studies had confirmed that this virus was responsible for more than 99% of cervical cancers, so intervention was focused on protecting women. Over the past few years, different studies have shown that this virus causes other forms of cancer and, moreover, among the entire population, regardless of gender. These new findings make it necessary to change the original objective of this vaccination and to consider extending its coverage to the general population},
