abstract = {RESUMEN La diversidad de creencias y costumbres afrodescendientes percibidas hoy en Cuba tiene su origen en el proceso de colonización. Este período supuso la llegada a la isla de miles de esclavos negros cuyas costumbres operaron sobre la tradición indígena precolonial. Dentro de todas las agrupaciones religiosas que cobraron vida en la ínsula caribeña, la Regla del Palo Monte Santo Cristo del Buen Viaje Remolino Cuatro Vientos devino en una de las vertientes más complejas del amplio y diverso mundo de los sistemas mágicos-religiosos afrocubanos. Con el objetivo de rendir un merecido homenaje a aquellos que han mantenido la práctica en la isla y explorar dichas creencias, se plantea en la consiguiente investigación el análisis de esta vertiente del Palo Monte en Cuba a través de la presentación de datos de importancia oral y escrita. Al mismo tiempo, se examinará cómo este sistema de creencias acabó por nutrir la vigorosa identidad cubana que ha llegado al presente.},
abstract = {ABSTRACT The diversity of Afro-descendant beliefs and customs perceived today in Cuba has its origin in the colonization process. This period meant the arrival on the island of thousands of black slaves whose customs operated on the pre-colonial indigenous tradition. Among all the religious groups that came to life in the caribbean island, the Rule of the Palo Monte Santo Cristo del Buen Viaje Remolino Cuatro Vientos became one of the most complex aspects of the wide and diverse world of Afro-Cuban magical-religious systems. With the aim of paying a well-deserved tribute to those who have maintained the practice on the island and explore these beliefs, this research proposes the analysis of this branch of Palo Monte in Cuba through the presentation of important oral and written data. At the same time, it will be examined how this belief system ended up nurturing the vigorous Cuban identity that has reached the present.},
