abstract = {RESUMEN :
La enfermedad por pie diabético (PD) es una de las complicaciones más graves 
que se resultan de la evolución de la Diabetes Mellitus (DM). Es la principal causa 
de hospitalización en estos pacientes (15%) y, además, su aparición se ve 
favorecida por la confluencia de complicaciones también frecuentes en la 
diabetes, como son la enfermedad arterial periférica (EAP) y la neuropatía 
diabética periférica (NDP) 
En consecuencia, se ve favorecido el desarrollo de úlceras y la instauración de 
la enfermedad por pie diabético, que obligará a amputación de los miembros en 
el 15-20% de los ingresados, además de implicar un riesgo relativo de mortalidad 
2,5 veces mayor (RR=2,5) respecto a los pacientes que no la tienen. 
Tiene este trabajo por objetivo el estudio del perfil clínico y la evolución tras la 
asistencia prestada durante el ingreso en el servicio de endocrino de una cohorte 
de 45 pacientes del Hospital Universitario Marqués de Valdecilla (Santander), 
teniendo en cuenta el contexto de la postpandemia por SARS-CoV2 (2020).},

Diabetic foot disease is one of the most severe complications resulting from the 
evolution of Diabetes Mellitus (DM). It is the main hospitalary admission issue on 
these patients (15%), and therefore it’s development is favoured by the 
confluence of other frequent complications of Diabetes, as peripheral arterial 
disease or peripheral diabetic neuropathy.
Consequently, the ulcer appearance is favoured and therefore the instauration of 
diabetic foot disease, which forces limb amputation on 15-20% of the admitted 
patients, in addition to implicating a mortality relative risk 2,5 times higher 
compared to patients who do not have it. 
This work has as objective the study of clinical profile and post-endocrinology 
service admission evolution of a cohort of 45 patients of the Valdecilla University 
Hospital (HUMV) in Santander, also regarding the context of post SARS-CoV2 
pandemic of 2020.},
