 El cáncer de mama es un importante problema de salud público global a día de hoy siendo la principal causa de muerte en mujeres. Este gran impacto ha creado la necesidad de un estudio detallado de la enfermedad para conocer a la perfección sus mecanismos patológicos con el objetivo final de mejorar la calidad de vida y el pronóstico de las pacientes. En esta revisión bibliográfica se expondrán las diferentes opciones terapéuticas, desde las más clásicas hasta las más innovadoras. Los tratamientos convencionales más conocidos y usados han sido la cirugía, la radioterapia, la quimioterapia y la terapia hormonal, pero el desarrollo de las resistencias y el alto porcentaje de recidivas ha potenciado la aparición de nuevas alternativas. Entre ellas, destaca el uso de las terapias dirigidas, en concreto del trastuzumab, que cambió el paradigma del tratamiento aumentando de manera significativa la supervivencia global de las mujeres. Se profundizará en el papel que ha cobrado la inmunoterapia, la cual ha demostrado tener una gran eficacia en los cánceres mamarios metastásicos, así como en la prevención de esta enfermedad con el avance de las vacunas antitumorales y el abordaje viral.},

Breast cancer is a major global public health problem nowadays and is the leading cause 
of death in women. This large impact has created the need for a detailed study of the 
disease in order to understand perfectly its pathological mechanisms with the final
target of improving the quality of life and prognosis of patients. This literature review 
will present the different therapeutic options, from the most classic to the most 
innovative. The best known and most widely used conventional treatments have been 
surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and hormone therapy, but the development of 
resistance and the high percentage of relapses has led to the appearance of new 
alternatives. These include the use of targeted therapies, specifically trastuzumab, 
which changed the treatment paradigm, significantly increasing the overall survival of 
women. The role of immunotherapy, which has proven to be highly effective in 
metastatic breast cancers, as well as in the prevention of this disease with the advance 
of anti-tumour vaccines and the viral approach, will be discussed in detail.},
