abstract = {A lo largo del siglo XXI se ha consolidado una medicina centrada en las necesidades del paciente que ha puesto el acento en las habilidades de comunicación. Sin embargo, este interés no ha evitado que un relato de sufrimiento desprovisto de pruebas objetivas se convierta en un problema de difícil manejo para médicos y pacientes. El análisis de la literatura médica sobre los llamados Síntomas Inexplicables Médicamente, sobre la Fibromialgia y sobre el manejo de las dolencias físicas de los pacientes psiquiátricos pone de relieve la necesidad de revisar los criterios de evidencia del modelo médico actual y que el relato del paciente recupere credibilidad si realmente queremos desarrollar una medicina centrada en la singularidad de cada paciente.},
abstract = {The twenty first century has seen the consolidation of a patient-centred medicine 
which has placed the emphasis on communication skills. However, this interest has not 
prevented an account of suffering that lacks objective proof from becoming a problem 
that is difficult to manage for doctors and patients. An analysis of the medical 
literature on so-called Medically Unexplained Symptoms, Fibromyalgia, and the 
management of the physical ailments of psychiatric patients highlights the need to 
review the evidence criteria of the present-day medical model and the need for the 
patient´s story to regain credibility if we really want to develop a medicine centred on 
the needs of each singular patient.},
