abstract = {El presente trabajo tiene por objetivo estudiar la construcción de la memoria del eremita san Millán por parte del monasterio homónimo entre los siglos VII y XIII. En el proceso, analizaremos los objetivos a los que respondió este fenómeno, así como las estrategias seguidas por la comunidad monástica para lograrlos. Para ello, se ha seleccionado una serie de fuentes de tipología diversa: documentación, cartularios, hagiografías, narraciones de sucesos vinculados a la historia del monasterio y fuentes iconográficas. Su análisis en conjunto permite reconstruir un discurso coherente hábilmente elaborado por los monjes de la Cogolla que supo adaptarse a las necesidades terrenales del monasterio en cada momento de su historia, garantizando así tanto una afluencia continuada de rentas y privilegios, así como la superación de diversos obstáculos que, en tiempos de dificultad, hubo de salvar. abstract = {The objective of the following paper is to study the construction of the memory of eremite Saint Millan by the namesake monastery between 7th and 13th centuries. In this process, we will focus on analysing the goals as well as the different strategies followed by the sacred community to achieve them. To do this, we have worked with a diverse selection of sources ranging from documentation and cartularies to iconographic productions, along with hagiographical writings or accounts of events linked to the monastery’s history. An aggregated analysis of this sources allows us to rebuild a coherent discourse adeptly elaborated by the monks of San Millan de la Cogolla, who were able to adapt it to the worldly necessities of each moments of its history, ensuring both a continuous influx of incomes and privileges, as well as the ability to overcome different obstacles. Ultimately, we aim to link both the spiritual and worldly dimensions of the construction of the institutional memory of San Millan de la Cogolla, along with its representation in the period’s sources},
