abstract = {RESUMEN: El objetivo de este trabajo es definir qué es el turismo de lujo, cómo ha evolucionado el perfil del turista de lujo, y la tendencia de este nicho del sector.
Las necesidades y expectativas del turista de lujo han dejado atrás la opulencia y definición tradicional en busca de algo todavía más especial.
Para evidenciar el cambio en mentalidad del turista de lujo, en el trabajo se analiza el perfil del turista de lujo en la actualidad, así como los tipos de transporte y alojamientos que se demandan, en contraposición a aquellos que se solicitaban años atrás, cuando el lujo era sinónimo de exuberancia.
Teniendo en cuenta la excepcionalidad de la situación en la que el mundo se encuentra al estar en plena crisis del COVID-19, me gustaría poder hacer una reflexión personal sobre cómo creo que afectará al turismo, y en particular al turismo de lujo, esta situación, y el futuro del sector, y de este nicho.},

The needs and expectations of the luxury tourist have left behind the opulence and traditional definition in the search of something even more special.
To evidence this mentality shift in this type of tourist, in this study I will analyze the luxury tourist’s profile in today’s world, as well as the types of transportation and accommodation that they demand, opposed to the ones they requested years back, when luxury was a synonym of exuberance.
