abstract = {RESUMEN: El presente Trabajo de Fin de Grado (TFG) trata de una investigación 
sobre la desprotección y maltrato infantil. Se ha decidido tratar estos temas dada 
la importancia que tienen tanto la escuela como los docentes en la detección y 
notificación de estos problemas, puesto que los niños y niñas transcurren gran 
parte de su día a día en el contexto escolar. 
El objetivo principal de la investigación es averiguar la percepción que los 
docentes tienen acerca de su conocimiento sobre la detección y notificación en 
los casos de desprotección infantil. La investigación está fundamentada en una 
metodología mixta que combina los enfoques cuantitativo y cualitativo, puesto 
que se ha elaborado un cuestionario que permite la recogida de datos por medio 
de preguntas cerradas y abiertas. Este instrumento ha sido contestado por una 
muestra de catorce profesionales de la educación, repartidas entre los ciclos de 
Educación Infantil y Primaria, y todas pertenecientes a la comunidad autónoma 
de Cantabria.
Los resultados del trabajo de investigación reflejan la escasez de 
conocimientos de las docentes en torno al maltrato infantil, así como su 
inseguridad a la hora de detectar y notificar casos en las aulas. En consecuencia 
y como conclusión de esta investigación, se necesita más, pero sobre todo mejor 
formación para los docentes, tanto los que están en camino de serlo como los 
que formalmente lo son, ya que de esta forma adquirirán la confianza y los 
conocimientos necesarios para detectar y notificar casos en la escuela.},
abstract = {ABSTRACT: The present dissertation consists of an investigation about child abuse and 
neglect. We have decided to work on these subjects due to the importance that 
both schools and teachers have in the identification and notification of these 
problems, considering the fact that both boys and girls spend most of their day in 
an educational environment.
The main objective of this investigation is understanding the perception 
teachers have about their ability to identify and notify cases of child neglect. The 
investigation is based upon a mixed methodology combining quantitative and 
qualitative approaches, since we have designed a questionnaire that allows us to 
collect data by using both open-ended and closed-ended questions. This 
questionnaire has been filled out by a sample of 14 education professionals 
divided into two educational groups (Childhood and Primary Education), all of 
them in Cantabria.
The results of this research work reflect the lack of knowledge about 
children abuse, as well as their insecurity when it comes to identifying and 
notifying those cases when they take place in a classroom. As a consequence 
and a conclusion to this investigation, we need both more and better formation 
for teachers. Not only for soon-to-be teachers, but also those that already work 
with children, so that they boost their confidence and their ability to identify and 
notify cases in school.},
