abstract = {RESUMEN: El crecimiento del turismo ha contribuido a que en los últimos años se hayan realizado
cambios en los museos. Los primeros museos eran elitistas ya que pretendían atraer
únicamente a las personas más formadas pero eso ya no ocurre. La gente viaja por una gran
variedad de motivos y una de las actividades que a menudo se realizan cuando se viaja es
visitar los museos de la zona por la que se está viajando.
Santander cuenta con varios museos que ofrecen un rico y diverso patrimonio artístico e
histórico desde la prehistoria hasta el presente, con actividades para jóvenes y mayores.
Este estudio analiza su importancia como recurso turístico urbano, haciendo hincapié en sus
características. Se dará una visión general de la historia de los museos que más se visitan en
Santander y se estudiará la oferta y la demanda. Además, se presentarán y analizarán los
resultados de una encuesta realizada a los visitantes así como las entrevistas realizadas a los
directores de los museos sobre aspectos como las cifras de visitantes o la promoción, entre
otros.},
abstract = {ABSTRACT: The growth of tourism has contributed to changes in museums over the past few years. The
early museums were elitist as they encouraged only the educated people to visit them but
the general public is no longer excluded. People travel for a variety of reasons and one
activity which people often do when travelling is to visit the museums of the area they are
touring.
Santander boasts a fine selection of museums displaying a rich, diverse heritage of art and
history ranging from prehistory to the present day, with activities for young and old alike.
This study analyzes their importance as tourist urban resources, highlighting their
characteristics. A brief history of the most visited museums in Santander is presented, while
supply and demand is likewise studied. Furthermore, the results of a survey of visitors as
well as data obtained from interviews with the directors of the museums on aspects such as
visitor numbers or promotion, among others, are presented and discussed.},
