abstract = {RESUMEN.
La OMI, en su afán de seguir garantizando la seguridad de la gente del mar y del medio ambiente, no cesa en su empeño por mejorar continuamente su sistema de inspecciones “Port State Control” (PSC). 
El sistema PSC consiste en la inspección de buques extranjeros en puertos nacionales para verificar que tanto el estado del buque como el de su equipamiento cumplen con las normas y convenios internacionales de seguridad y prevención de la contaminación. Para una mayor eficacia, el PSC se organiza en nueve regiones que han firmado un acuerdo o memorando de entendimiento sobre este. España se encuentra entre los estados firmantes de uno de ellos, el Memorando de París. 
El presente trabajo propone una mejora del sistema de inspecciones PSC mediante la incorporación de un nuevo factor al conjunto histórico, afinando así la asignación a cada una de las diferentes categorías que conforman el Perfil de Riesgo de un buque.},

IMO in his eagerness to continue guaranteeing the safety of the sea people and environment, has not ceased to work on the continuous improvement of its inspection system “Port State Control” (PSC). 
The PSC system consists of the inspection of foreign ships in national ports to verify that both the condition of the ship and its equipment comply with international standards and conventions on safety and prevention of pollution. For the greater effectiveness, the PSC is organized in nine regions that have signed an agreement or memorandum of understanding on it. Spain is among the signatory states of one of them, the Paris Memorandum. 
This present study proposes an improvement to the PSC inspection system by the inclusion of a new factor to the historical group, refining the assignment to each of different categories which make up the Ship Risk Profile.},
