abstract = {RESUMEN trabajo tiene como objetivo investigar los motivos que hacen que los alumnos de Educación Primaria escojan la asignatura “Valores Sociales y Cívicos” de entre las posibilidades que se les ofrecen.
Para llevar a cabo el estudio, se ha realizado una investigación de tipo mixto, que integra enfoques cualitativos y cuantitativos. En este estudio han participado un total de 39 alumnos de Educación Primaria, además de 27 familias de alumnos, todos ellos pertenecientes a un centro de Educación Primaria de la Comunidad Autónoma de Cantabria, España. A lo largo de la investigación, se han llevado a cabo dos cuestionarios de tipo autoinforme: uno dirigido al alumnado y otro a las familias.
Una vez analizados los resultados teniendo en cuenta tanto las diferentes variables como las relaciones existentes entre ellas, se puede concluir que la mayoría del alumnado escoge la optativa Valores Sociales y Cívicos por interés en la formación en Valores, siendo éstos una minoría, ya que el mayor porcentaje de alumnado cursa la asignatura Religión Católica. Siguiendo esta línea podemos observar que la decisión de escoger una u otra asignatura está en la mayoría de las veces en manos de las familias, de forma que la voz del alumnado apenas se tiene en cuenta.
En definitiva, se revisarán todos estos aspectos, el estado de la cuestión y se detallarán los resultados obtenidos en el estudio con el fin de extraer las conclusiones correspondientes.},
abstract = {ABSTRACT The main objective of this work is to discover why primary school students choose the subject "Social and Civic Values" from among the other possibilities offered to them.
To carry out the study, it has been carried out a mixed type of research, which integrates qualitative and quantitative approaches. In this study, a total of 39 Primary Education students have participated, in addition to 27 families, all of them belonging to a Primary Education school in Cantabria, Spain. Throughout the investigation, two self-report questionnaires have been carried out: one directed to the students and other to the families.
Once the results have been analyzed taking into account not only the different variables but also the relationships between them, it can be concluded that the majority chooses “Social and Civic Values” because of their interest in the formation in values; being in turn a minority, because a huge percentage of students prefers the subject “Catholic Religion”. We can also observe that the decision to choose one subject or another is mostly done by the families, so the voice of the children is hardly taken into account.
To sum up, all these aspects will be reviewed, as well as the state of the matter and the results obtained in the study, in order to draw the corresponding conclusions},
