Tras la realización de una búsqueda bibliográfica sobre los cuidados paliativos, se procede a exponer en qué consisten dichos cuidados. Para ello, se pone en contexto el tema que estamos tratando, recogiendo la evolución a lo largo de la historia de estos cuidados, teniendo en cuenta los aspectos más importantes a destacar de la misma. Los CP están indicados en pacientes que se encuentran en situación de enfermedad terminal. Estos cuidados tienen el objetivo de garantizar el confort y el bienestar de los pacientes en el final de su vida. Además, son un derecho de los pacientes en situación terminal, lo que está recogido a nivel legislativo tanto internacional, como nacional y autonómico. Posteriormente, se expone la organización de la atención paliativa a nivel nacional, así como el papel que cumple el profesional de enfermería a la hora de proporcionar los CP dentro del equipo de salud.},

After carrying out a bibliographic search in Palliative Care (PC), we proceed to explain what such care consists of. For this, the subject we are dealing with is put into context, taking into account the evolution throughout the history of this care, and account the most important aspects to be highlighted in it. The PC`s indicated in patients who are in a terminal illness situation. This care is intended to ensure the comfort and well-being of patients at the end of their lives. In addition, it is a right for terminally ill patients, which is included in international, national and regional legislation. Subsequently, the organization of palliative care at the national level is exposed, as well as the role of the nursing professional when providing PC within the health team.},
